COPS
The Citizens Observers Patrol in Loudon County program (COPs) is designed to allow citizens to assist law enforcement by being an extra set of “eyes and ears”, and immediately report suspicious activity, potential hazards and even crimes in progress to the Sheriff’s Office. COPs volunteers also do home checks for residents who are on vacation. They plan and conduct instruction for county residents on topics of current interest or need about safety in the community. These classes are announced using local means of communication such as Channel 3, Next Door Neighbor and Tell E Gram. Jerry Schwartz is the leader of this group.
LOUDON COUNTY SHERIFF’S CITIZENS ACADEMY
The Citizens Academy invites county residents to gain a basic understanding of the training and requirements for their local law enforcement officers, and fosters a cooperative partnership between citizens and the officers who serve them. All classes are taught by law enforcement professionals. Classroom and Field instruction, at a minimum, will cover the following topics:

U.S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY
The Coast Guard Auxiliary offers a series of classes of interest and importance to boaters. Course titles include GPS for the Tennessee Boater, Paddle Sports, Family Fun and Safety, Boating Safety, Cold Water Boating and others. Class announcements are made through Channel 3, Tell E Gram, and other Village media. Registration is through the Coast Guard Auxiliary as described on their promotional announcements. There is a fee paid to this organization.
